the local scoop

Our first morning at the Neshoba County fair (I’ll be sharing more soon about the fair) while checking out the 4H exhibits, we came across a reporter from the Clarion Ledger who interviewed us.  It was in Tuesday’s paper and can also be view online here: the Clarion Ledger

the Town Park

Trey swinging with Evan.  We went to the Sebastopol Park for a friend’s Birthday party.  Sebastopol has a great park.  It’s close enough to walk, has a summer ball league, and is very friendly for the smaller younger kids.

One month gone already

Time is a just force.  It sweeps into the future without discrimination; no one is left out.  And whatever it is in our tiny adult brains that has a heightened awareness of time, it is even more accentuated when you watch your children grow.

USM Alumni All Star Party

I have the elustrious honor of making it into the Clarion Ledger’s Online photos from the Southern Miss Alumni All Star party last night in Jackson.
Below, you can see half of a profile of my head in the background.  I was talking to the guy (friend from USM, Jeff Fitzgerald) in the middle of the [...]

I snapped

Thanks to Mrs. Allie Mae from our church, I was able to teach Shelby and Trey how to snap green beans.  Mrs. Allie Mae is a young 90yrs old and still does her own vegetable garden (what strength and endurance she has!)  Shelby and Trey loved the experience.  There is nothing like fresh vegetables.  We [...]

Bubblers for Bottles

Can you guess what the picture below is?

How bout a depiction of 2million plastic bottles. The number of plastic bottles used every 5 minutes in the U.S. Time to bring back the bubbler. The photographs are part of a photographic exhibition by Chris Jordan and you can check out all of them [...]

Toro!

After viewing my sister Ashley’s new house (she done grown up while I wasn’t looking), we went out to eat with her family.  Trey and his cousin Hayden went for 8seconds on the bull at Mi Tora. (That’s uncle Chris in the background)

Then Shelby jumped on and one upped the boys by riding the bull [...]

The After Party

Shelby munched on some black frosted cake that was made for my aunt’s surprise 50th birthday.  Here forever more she shall be Black Frosted pirate.

After the 4th of July party faded, Trey and his cousin Hayden went on a nature adventure and found a little turtle.

Trey and Hayden made their way to the front yard [...]

As many as the sand on the seashore

As you know, we usually have wild, unfettered parties. This year’s 4th of July celebration at my mawmaw’s was no different. Exhibit A: The picture below is of 6 cousins all within a year of each other. Unfettered anyone?

Next is a pic of mawmaw with her 11 great-great grandchildren. All of [...]
